More photos of me in Germany

This was Easter at my grandmothers, this is me on the left and my aunt Ulli, and my grandmother. I remember she would make a big deal about easter and hide the eggs. Can't see them in this photo. Those were days i wish i could go back too, my grandma and i were very close. Can't say the same for my aunt tho. Grandma or Oma is what I called her, used to spoil me, as she new i didn't like onions, so when she would fix meals, she would cut the onions real small so that i wouldn't know they were in there. i think my aunt didn't like that, as one day when my mom went to work my aunt babysat me, and as soon as mom left she got the biggest onion and peeled it and sat me in the corner and said NOW you eat this. To this day i don't like onions. But boy when my mom got home and found me sitting there with that onion my aunt got into a lot of trouble.Well i am not sure what this was all about accept sillyness, on the left is my mom, then my uncle Peter, my grandma's sister, grandma.
I think they were having fun from the looks of it.
This is another good photo shot of my mom, my uncle Peter and Ulli, and Me.
Uncle Peter was my favorite . He was a baker. and a very good one at that. Not having a father he sort of took the place of one for me. Whenever he was around he always spent a lot of time with me.
Here is a photo of my uncle Peter and me, this was taken in Stutgart on the hill were we used to live, made for great sledding.

Lilli, once again, these are such wonderful photos! I'm sure they bring back a lot of memories...even the bad ones like the onion. But it's makes a fun story! I'm sure there were some struggles because isn't that life? But your photos capture the innocence of childhood and the ties that bond a family. Thanks again for sharing them!

PS: I don't collect teapots and I only have one or two very plain ones but I think they are beautiful, just like fine china or porcelain. I have all of my mom's fine china, which I researched and it's from the 1950's. I still keep them in their boxes because I haven't had a use for them. I don't know where she got them, though, because my parents were married in 1967 and the company stopped making the china in the 50's. She didn't even come to the states till 1966. So much is a mystery.

Oh Lilli, I just checked out both of your blogs and had such a great time ready about your childhood. I have been to German once and LOVED it!! Can't wait to go back one day.

Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. I just got the editor position with the magazine, so I am very excited about it!

Have a great weekend! I won't be blogging again until next week.

I live in Spokane WA. As far as I know the dam is still in operation. If you are coming to Spokane from Leavenworth on Highway 2 you will come to a town called Rearden, take a left on highway 231 and go north about 14 miles and you will be at Long Lake Dam. From there if you continue north on highway 231 about 1 mile you come to highway 291 turn right on it and go about 30 miles, and you will come out on the north west side of Spokane. Both roads are good paved roads a little crooked in places no fuel stops for about 30 miles from Rearden going this way, it is a very nice drive and there is a campground on Long Lake no to far from the dam. Some maps will call Long Lake Lake Spokane but they are one in the same. LC and Ranger
