Well i would like to say Happy Birthday to my son Jan, he is 40 yrs old today,He was born in Spokane Wash. at Fairchild Air Force Hospital, on Friday the 13th.1968.5 lbs 9 oz. He is such a cutie , He was a month early so here he is in the incubator. His daddy was in the Army, in Korea, so he wasn't able to be there when he was born. Boy times have changed when i had him. Everything
was so restricted, no one could be there accept my husband or a parent. which i had neither.So my friend Linda was with me most of the time. My mother finally did come, but had a car accident on the way, No she wasn't hurt, only the car was damaged. Thank goodness.
I had moved to Spokane so that i could be near the hospital so I wouldn't have to pay. I think the total bill for having him was around $21 and that was for food i ate.
I was in the hospital a week before they let me go home.

Totally love the pics!! I think i'm the same age as Jan - I was born in 1968, but turn 40 next year. So maybe he's only 39? Or was he born in 1967?
I can't believe that it only cost $21 and you were there for a week!! I wish my mom and dad were still around so I could ask them how much it cost when I was born.

This is so funny because tonight i asked my son if he was sure that he was 40? and he looked at me and said Arn't I? I said well Madretz said she was born the same yr. and she said she won't be 40 till next yr. He got his calculator out and checked. Boy you would of thought you handed him a million bucks, he called his kids and told them that he wasn't 40 yet!
We had a big laugh over that. Thanks for catching that, he has had a bad couple of yrs.
Lilli! I am sooo totally laughing out loud! That's hilarious, I'm so glad that I made his year, I gave him a whole 'nother year in his 30's! Whoo hooo!! Big birthday blessings to all of you!! 'Cuz his birthday is a big milestone for you, too! I totally love the pic of you.
Don't you love how our kids are growing up and how we can look back and still remember! My oldest, Amy, turns 35 on Sunday, the 30th. But I was born on June 13 and have had many Friday the 13s in my life. Everyone of them has been a great day! :)
